RBI ASSISTANT RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION PATTERN 2015-2016

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India’s central banking institution, which controls the monetary policy of the country. Like every year, this year also RBI has invited applications for the recruitment of 504 posts of Assistant. This is a very good opportunity for the aspirants who are preparing for the Banking exams. The exam will be conducted online and then followed by interview of the successful candidates.

EXAMINATION PATTERN:

The online examination will be of 200 marks having 200 questions which are to be attempted within 2 hours.

TEST OF REASONING – 40 Questions / 40 marks
TEST OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE - 40 Questions / 40 marks
TEST OF NUMERICAL ABILITY - 40 Questions / 40 marks
TEST OF GENERAL AWARENESS - 40 Questions / 40 marks
TEST OF COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE - 40 Questions / 40 marks

The online test will be conducted bilingually except the English language section. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. A Candidate has to qualify all the sections individually as well as total marks obtained together in all the sections should be more than the cut-off to clear the written exam and then only they are called for Interview.


DETAILED SYLLABUS FOR THE ONLINE EXAM:

Test of Reasoning: Number series, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Blood Relations, Syllogism, Calendar problems, Sitting arrangement, Ranking test, Visualization, statement and assumptions, Venn diagram, Input-Output, Decision making, Logical reasoning etc.
Test of English Language: Synonyms and Antonyms, Comprehension, Cloze test, Word arrangement, sentence arrangement, Fill in the blanks, Error correction, One word substitution, Idioms and phrases ,word meanings etc.
Test of Numerical Ability: Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time and work, Time and Distance, Profit and loss, Simple interest and Compound interest, Problem on ages, Data interpretation, Data sufficiency, Quadratic equation etc.
Test of General Awareness: Current affairs (National & International), Major financial and economic news, important days, Awards and honors, Books and authors, Sports, Abbreviations, Scientific aspects and many more daily updates.
Test of Computer Knowledge: Basics of computer, shortcut keys, Input, Output, Internet, MS Office (MS word, MS excel, MS Power Point), Computer architecture, Computer abbreviations etc.


All the candidates who are eager to grab this opportunity to work in the RBI need to focus on all the sections equally. It is important to score as much as one can by the candidates, in order to ensure their name in the final merit list. So, the time should be devoted on each section equally.  Daily practice will be needed to qualify the test.

INTERVIEW:
The candidates called for interview on the basis of their online written exam will be assessed for their general awareness, educational qualification knowledge, Hobbies and all the other areas of interest. After that, final result will be declared.

PAY SCALE AND PERQUISITES:
The candidates selected finally will get a starting basic pay of Rs.8,860/- per month and initial monthly gross emoluments is approximately Rs.24,429/-. Also, there will be other benefits like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. RBI’s also provide rented accommodations, Reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of their vehicle for official purpose, Newspaper, Brief case, Book Grant, Allowance for furnishing of residence. Dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalization as per eligibility; Interest free Festival Advance, Leave Fare Concession (once in two years for self, spouse and eligible dependents). Loans and Advances at concessional rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc.
