IBPS PO Prelims Expected Cut Off - Second Shift 3rd October 2015

ANALYSIS OF PRELIMINARY EXAM OF IBPS PO 03-10-2015 (SECOND SHIFT)

In this article we are posting the review and analysis of the Preliminary exam of Probationary Officer conducted by IBPS on October 3, 2015 (Second shift).Let’s analyze and review what was the good attempt, expected  cut off & types of questions asked in the exam.

It has been ascertained from candidate’s assessment that overall the level of the exam was Moderate. The pattern of the question paper compared to the morning shift was more or less same as compared to the first shift.

Yet again, the quantitative aptitude section turned out as a tough nut to crack. Questions were lengthy and time consuming, especially Data Interpretation. The candidates had a tough time working against the clock to attempt all the sections. English section was reported to be a lengthy one as Reading comprehension questions, which students feared, dominated this section. Reasoning was easy to Moderate.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE:

The level of quantitative aptitude was moderate and for a good attempt candidate should have attempted 13-15 questions. Questions which were asked in the exam were as follows:

Data interpretation (Table & Line Graph) – 10 questions
Number series – 5 questions
Quadratic equations – 5 questions
Approximation – 5 questions
Profit & loss, CI, SI & Miscellaneous – 10 questions

REASONING ABILITY:

The section saw primarily easy to moderate and for a good attempt candidate should have attempted 17-20 questions. Some of the topics in which were asked are as follows:

Syllogism – 5 questions
Coding Decoding – 5 questions
Inequality – 5 questions
Sitting Arrangement (Circular) – 5 questions
Puzzles (Floor/North South Arrangement) – 10 questions
Blood relations, Ranking & Miscellaneous – 5 questions

ENGLISH LANGUAGE:

The level of English language was Moderate and for a good attempt candidate should be attempted 16-18 questions. Below are some of the questions asked in the exam:

Reading Comprehension (Small banks in china) – 10 questions
Cloze test – 5 questions
Fillers – 5 questions
Para jumble – 5 questions
Spotting error – 5 questions

Overall the exam has MODERATE level of difficulty. But, if a candidate attempt 46-52 then there will be good chance for them to clear this exam.

Expected Cut-off:

Based on this analysis expected category wise cut off will be:
47-53: General Candidates
40-45: OBC candidates
35-38: SC candidates
32-36: ST candidates
